CAJON PASS, Calif. (CAJONCRAWL.com) — California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a suspected DUI crash in the Cajon Pass Monday night.
At about 7:17 pm on January 20, 2020, CHP received calls of a reckless driver in a silver Hyundai Genesis on the southbound I-15, south of Highway 138.
According to the CHP incident logs, the Hyundai rear-ended a vehicle and then hit a semi before going over the side, near the off-ramp.
Per the logs, the reporting party’s relative contacted dispatch and reported her sister-in-law was in the vehicle with two other males and all three were all under the influence of Xanax and marijuana.
CHP officers arrived and located the Hyundai 50 feet over the side with a male driver suspected of driving under the influence.
According to the logs, the reporting party called back to say her sister-in-law and the other male were at the nearby Best Western Hotel.
The crash was initially reported to be a hit-and-run but was later changed. The other two involved vehicles were at the scales. No injuries were reported.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
